ACCESSIBILITY STANDARDS FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

ACCESSIBILITY WORKS WORKSHOP

The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilties Act, 2005 (AODA) mandates that all businesses in Ontario meet the Accessibility Standards for Customer Service by January 1, 2012. Are you ready? as a business owner or manager you need to know the steps to take to meet the requirements.

Breaking Down Barriers has developed an interactive workshop to assist businesses in complying with customer service standards. The training workshop will provide the necessary information to make it easier for business owners, their staff, and volunteers to meet the training and other requirements under the new standard. The workshop will also provide you an understanding of how to better serve customers with disabilities - providing excellent service to all customers makes good business sense.

The workshop will provide:

• An understanding of the legislative requirements according to the Accessibility Standards for Customer Service (Ontario Regulation 429/07)
• An understanding of what barriers exist that might prevent a person with a disability from accessing your service
• An overview of the tools/resources to help you comply
• An understanding of how to coach and support your team in meeting the requirements.

Workshops will be provided on the following dates:
January 25, 2012, February 22 and March 28

All workshops will be held on the 3rd floor of the Collingwood Public Library, 55 Ste. Marie Street, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Cost: $30.00
